Now that I've got your attention... Of course, I'm referring to the dimensions of graphics used in your account profiles online. Many platforms will resize and sometimes even permit cropping or scaling within their system, but sometimes the compressing or automated altering of an image changes it in ways that are less than flattering to say the least! If you're looking to upload images and designs to avoid compression and alteration, check out the list below; a collection of the recommended and optimal sizes for customised graphics on the main Social Media Platforms. Just a note on resolution: we usually use images of 144dpi (dots per inch) for best resolution online. However, many would argue that 72dpi is just as adequate and has the advantage of reducing the size of the file to be uploaded. Facebook Profile Picture:Maximum size: 200 x 600px. However, consider how valuable a really 'long' image will be, since the 'longer' you make the pic, the further down it pushes your page navigation - and you do want that as visible as possible to encourage fans to explore! Facebook Thumbnail: 50 x 50px. Remember that if you have a non-square profile image, you can adjust which area of your pic is used as the thumbnail (the graphic shown around Facebook) (hover over your profile picture, click on 'change picture', then go to 'edit thumbnail' to click and drag the thumbnail parameters to your desired position) commentary :

This is a very useful post on getting the correct sizes for your profile pictures on your social media accounts. Using the right pixel size...
